Our Private Carp Lake In
the grounds of the castle Lagorce is our very own lake. Measuring roughly 200
metres by 60 metres with a small island in the middle. The lake holds
excitable Grass Carp and Mirror Carp sizing up to the mid 45lbs. These
fish are by no means the biggest of fish in France. But you will feel
that you are fishing a truly idyllic carp lake untouched by the peg
builders and working party sessions. The lake holds secrets that you
alone must discover. Backing onto the end wall of the castle you can
fish whilst eating your Sunday dinner. Then retire for a pleasurable game of Snooker and a few glasses of the local Vino.
 At
the back of the castle grounds runs a fresh water stream. The stream
holds Trout and Sea Trout and is a great place to get back to nature
with your fishing. Shown here is a guest in his final moments of landing a lovely conditioned 20lb Mirror.
Aloses Fishing on the RIvers Garonne and Dordogne Just 5 minutes from the castle runs the River Garonne The
Alose (Alosa, alosa) is a strong migrating fish of the size of a
grilse. It is supposed to accept with not too many difficulties even
the wetfly of the alose rookies!! castle Lagorce is only 10 minutes
drive to the Dordogne River. Both are available to fish with permits
from near by towns and villages.
Périgord near Saint Emilion Not far from Saint Emilion, Alose fishing between Bergerac and Castillon la Bataille. Between Bergerac and Castillon the Dordogne is flowing across a wonderful setting with vineyards on either bank.
